Maximus-by Miguel Iglesias

Hello! Has been a long time. To much working going on at work with "The Division".
Here is something I should have done a looooong time ago. I am a huge fan of history, and specially from the late Roman Republic times. So I though i had to do one picture of a nice centurion. I hope you like it.
Cheers

HORIZON- By Miguel Iglesias

Hello! Here is one of the painting i did for the Joystick´s exhibition concert at the concerthall of Malmö, Sweden.
My main idea was to create a painting where i would focus mainly on a strong composition. The concept behind the setting and mood was to create the sense of travelling and dicovery, a journey to the unknowed :) I hope you like it

Dungeon Entrance-by Miguel Iglesias

Hello! :D  When i did this painting i was thinking on the classic theme of the heroe entring a dungeaon. But i wanted to give some realism on the fact that if someone is entenring an unknown cave or dungeon, with the potencial to be lost for days, he or she would need for sure lot of provisions and things to carry. Instead of the only having your shinning armour, sword and shield. Thats why i packed him with lot of stuff. He is not only a heore but an explorer! :P

IVY- by Miguel Iglesias

Heeey. This is a character exercise i did yesterday and finished today. It started as a challenge were i had to create a character mixing two ideas: fairy tale and post apocalytic. I tryed to approach the fairy tale aspect with the presentation of the picture, as it was a cover for the tale. As i said, it started like that but it has ended as a first concept for a characters for a comic experiment i may start with a colleague of mine.  I have used Klimt heavely   as source of inspiration. Cheers.

Viking Girl-Miguel

This is a portrait I did some time ago of my girl friend dressed as a viking girl.
I painted it  after I visited her when she was working at Birka as a guide(a Swedish viking town).
Thats why the viking theme ;) I was inspired by Klimt when i painted it.

Troll Killer-Miguel

Continuing with the Barbarians... For Crom! :D
I started this picture as a simple one with just the guy with the axe, but little by little i started to add more stuff and it ended up like this. My main focus was the light. I am obsessed with it, i could say that now it is my main goal to learn how to put it properly.

Northern helmets - Miguel

First I want to say how much excited i am about the opening of the Blog and how great it is to share this experience with so many talented artists!
Now, about this first picture. It is a quick sketch that I did mainly as a light study and worm up exercise.

With this second picture, i just wanted to have some fun and not complicate my self with fancy ideas. So i went for a classic badass barbarian from the Nord because, as everybody knows there is nothing more fun and badass than a barbarian!! :P
The theme of the Northern Helmets is represented by the pile of helmets that stand as trophies.
