Introduction post! Dave

Hey everyone.

I'm Dave. I've joined the Cinematic team a couple of months ago to "help make the cinematics even prettier", however possible.

I moved the Sweden from Israel and am building a new life using the knowledge of the life I've left behind.

One of the points I've learned is that I need to build into my schedule more personal painting/drawing time. So I'm happy to join this blog and share what I'm working on with you guys, and hopefully watching the cool stuff you make will help inspire me and keep me at it :)

I'm very open to critique and would be happy to get any criticism - painting is just a hobby for me and from looking around here there's a lot I could learn from you guys. So please, show no mercy.

I guess to open my first post, I'll attach to two painting that I've managed to squeeze in since I got to Sweden. The first was inspired by Curiosity (the Mars rover), the second is character concept art for a personal project I'm working on with some friends.

This a quick painting i did a long time ago but i still like. I was obviously insprired by the old Nosferatu film... what an awesome fim!

I also did this other quick painting  some time ago for a friend project. Painting dragons is fun.

Yes it was some time ago i last made a longboard, in fact its 2 years ago and it can be viewed here.

This time however, instead of being heavily influenced by the wonderful arts of audrey kawasaki i sat down in the garden let my pen and imagination fly.  Yes its a hairy goat-snake and a dragon entangled in each other. enjoy!

Finnishing up a batman sketch I made a couple of weeks back. The degenerate, out of work kind of batman seemed like a fun idea to me. Thinking about adding some small details I haven't figured out yet and probably make some overall tweaks and fixes.

i was a bit tired of all my static images and wanted some movement, so I tried a slightly different approach and by chance ended up with this monochrome sketch. i do wish i put in colors from the start, i find it pretty hard adding them afterwards and getting a good result.

Traveller - Soya

Traveler takes pictures of curious existences around the world.

Curious existence 2: Blue Land Whale Parasites
The Blue Land Whale (here a dead specimen) is just like a marine blue whale, except it floats in the air. The whale carcass can stick around for 50 years, while acting as a home for unique parasites that live exclusively off of it (fact). To these parasites, the whale is their whole world. 
Here Traveler is seen adjusting the camera lens to take a picture of this rare find.
